LILY’S DAY

[ CINEMATIC VR EXPERIENCE ]

DIRECTOR, EDITOR

Lily is constantly caught in the crossfire of her parents arguing during a financial rough patch. On a particularly tough day, her new princess doll fuels her imagination to escape from the reality of the situation. Lily’s Day puts you behind the eyes of our 9 year old protagonist, through cutting edge POV 360 capture.

In 360 filmmaking, I like to minimize cuts and allow for the viewer's head or device movement to create flow in the sequence. This means long drawn out sequences that are choreographed around the camera in spatial space. To plan this out, I designed my own system of storyboarding in 360/VR video space, indicating character movement, production design elements, scale and height of signification objects and characters with respect to the viewer POV.
